Zera is professional in her approach, but ultimately aims to relate to people as human beings- bringing compassion, respect and a sense of humour to the therapeutic relationship.
Book a sessionZera is a senior Clinical Psychologist currently working at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust alongside her role at HelloSelf. She has experience of working in several specialist NHS services and works with people who may be experiencing difficulty with a range of issues, including psychosis spectrum experiences (e.g. voices, paranoia or unusual beliefs), anxiety (e.g. social anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, worry/generalised anxiety, health anxiety, panic), trauma, sleep, perfectionism and low self-esteem. Zera also has expertise in supporting people who have/had relationships with narcissistic individuals. Therapy usually begins with understanding how these difficulties may have developed, before working on what may be maintaining them, supporting you to make changes in line with your goals. Zera is primarily trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) but also works integratively depending on each person's unique needs e.g. drawing on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). She has had post-qualification training in CBT and can provide high quality therapy for the difficulties listed. In addition to her work in the NHS, she also has experience of working as a therapist in research. Zera understands that starting therapy and making changes can be daunting. She will aim to support you to get the most out of therapy while ensuring you retain a sense of control, working collaboratively throughout, and providing you with a safe space to express yourself. Zera completed her Bachelors in Psychology at the University of Exeter and since then has obtained two Masters degrees in Mental Health Studies and Early Intervention in Psychosis at King’s College, London. Zera completed her doctoral training as a Clinical Psychologist at King’s College, London and is registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC).
