Richard has worked for the NHS for over 10 years in a variety of roles. He is registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Richard completed his training as a Clinical Psychologist between 2011-2014 at the University of Hull. He has worked predominantly in hospital settings since qualifying as a psychologist within the NHS. Richard has worked with many people to help them find more stability in their lives through providing individual therapy or working with families and support networks. As well as working in the NHS, Richard works as a freelance therapist and has done for the last 6 years. Richard has a keen interest in supporting people who have experienced trauma in their lives and has gained a lot of experience as an Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist since training in 2020. Richard has extensive Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) experience following his training as a psychologist and through his day to day work. In addition to this, he has experience in providing Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). Richard has completed further training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT).
