About me

It is really common to feel low in mood and/or anxious at some point in our lives. During these times, we can all benefit from a safe and non-judgemental environment so that we feel listened to and supported. Ranjot is a warm and compassionate Counselling Psychologist helping people to make sense of their struggles and to find some relief leading to an improved quality of life. She offers compassionate and effective therapeutic strategies aligned to your needs and preferences, all in a discrete and confidential environment. Ranjot would describe her approach as goal orientated, but most importantly client-centred. Individuals working with Ranjot may experience increased self-awareness, learning practical coping strategies for their concerns. They may also acquire a range of other psychological and emotional skills such as stress management techniques, emotional regulation, assertiveness skills, and mindfulness practices. Individuals may experience a sense of empowerment as they actively engage in setting and working towards their therapeutic goals. This can lead to increased confidence and a greater sense of control over their lives. Most importantly, they feel heard and understood. Ranjot has trained for 10 years, completing a BSc in Psychology, a Graduate Certificate in Counselling, and a Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology. She works with a range of issues, including but not limited to depression and anxiety, with a particular interest on the impact of culture on mental health. Ranjot is able to adapt CBT for cultural variations, and has recently published an article on a new measure of depression she developed in the Punjabi language called the 'Punjabi Depression Inventory'. Ranjot also works in the NHS offering individual and group treatment to adults suffering from depression and/or anxiety. Her professional journey includes over 6 years in the NHS, with a present focus now on private practice.
