Rachel is a warm and collaborative Clinical Psychologist, with a special interest in the assessment and treatment of anxiety and trauma from a cognitive behavioural perspective.
Book a sessionRachel is passionate about working with clients to identify their goals and work together to reach them, using an evidence-based approach. Rachel primarily uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and is experienced in using this approach to support clients with a range of difficulties related to anxiety disorders and trauma. She first works with clients to develop a shared understanding of their difficulties, and then introduces a range of strategies and ideas to make changes in line with the client’s goals. Rachel understands that change can be difficult, and has a patient but enthusiastic approach to helping clients make progress. Rachel is proud to have received excellent feedback from her clients and to have supported many to achieve their goals through CBT. Rachel has a wide range of experience working clinically with people with a diverse range of needs, across the life span. She has a particular interest in the assessment and treatment of anxiety disorders and trauma from a CBT perspective. She has worked across general and specialist NHS services, and has received specialist training and supervision in CBT. Alongside her role at HelloSelf, Rachel currently works as a Clinical Psychologist in a specialist NHS trauma, anxiety and depression clinic. She also works as a Clinical Tutor at a University/NHS programme, training new therapists in CBT. Rachel is registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC). Rachel completed a BSc in Psychology at Cardiff University, before completing an MSc in Clinical Aspects of Psychology at the University of Reading. Rachel then completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at King’s College London. As well as clinical work and teaching, Rachel has recently completed and published clinical research in the field of anxiety disorders. Rachel’s teaching and research experience continue to inform her high-quality clinical practice.
