About me

I am a caring, warm, conscientious and compassionate therapist. I understand that starting therapy can be daunting and will support you on your personal journey of healing, by listening to your story and creating an individualised therapeutic experience for you, tailoring the sessions to meet your needs and helping you make the most meaningful changes to enable you to feel the way you want to feel. I have a specialist interest in trauma focused therapy and helping people to process painful and traumatic experiences in a safe environment. I can support you with various types of trauma including adverse childhood experiences, multiple and prolonged traumatic experiences, single incident traumas and trauma related to the armed forces. I have extensive experience of working therapeutically to treat anxiety disorders including generalised anxiety disorder, health anxiety, social anxiety, panic disorder, panic attacks, agoraphobia and depression. I have a keen interest in supporting people in the treatment of OCD, specific phobias and hoarding. I have experience of supporting people with work related stress, low self esteem , sleep difficulties including nightmares, perfectionism, grief, long term health conditions, relationship difficulties and anger by using a combination of evidence based cognitive and behavioural interventions and strategies from acceptance and commitment therapy and compassion focused therapy. I look forward to our journey together, we will start by working together to understand how difficulties may have developed and what is maintaining them before moving on to explore what your hopes and goals for therapy are and where you feel you would like to make changes that are most important to you. I will support you to become your own therapist by drawing upon a range of cognitive and behavioural interventions to help you to live and feel better.
