Motchila is a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Psychologist who specialises in providing cognitive behavioural therapy, informed by mindfulness and compassion focussed approaches.
Book a sessionI am a warm, non-judgemental and empathic therapist, and believe in the importance of providing a safe and supportive therapeutic space, in which clients can openly explore difficult emotions, thoughts and experiences. I work with clients to develop a shared understanding of how their difficulties have developed over time, and what factors might be maintaining them in the here and now. I take a collaborative, practical and evidence based approach, helping clients to bring about meaningful change and acceptance in their lives. I am a highly skilled and experienced Chartered Clinical Psychologist. I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and British Psychological Society and worked in the NHS for sixteen years, predominantly in adult mental health services, before moving to private practice seven years ago. I am also an experienced clinical supervisor. I specialise in traditional and third wave cognitive behaviour therapy, including mindfulness and compassion focussed approaches. I completed my Clinical Psychology doctoral training at University College London, through which I developed knowledge and skills across a broad range of therapeutic models. I subsequently completed further specialist training in cognitive behaviour therapy. I have extensive experience of working with depression, anxiety (including panic, social anxiety, generalised anxiety, health anxiety, phobias and stress), OCD, PTSD and trauma, bereavement and loss, low self-esteem, perfectionism, adjustment to life changes, chronic health issues, work stress and insomnia. I am very experienced in working with (and very much welcome) autistic people and those with ADHD.
