I will use a therapy approach that is tailored to you and focused on your therapy goals and formulation.
Book a sessionI will use a therapy approach that is tailored to you and focused on your therapy goals and formulation. This may include trauma-focused models, such as Eye-Movement Desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy or trauma-focused cognitive therapy, mentalization-based therapy (MBT), cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT), and compassion-focused techniques (CFT). These approaches are focused on helping people make sense of distress and develop practical and skilful ways to manage their difficulties. The length of therapy may vary depending on your personal goals, this is something we will discuss and agree together and can be reviewed throughout your therapy journey. Whichever approach we take, therapy will involve working together during sessions to formulate an understanding of your difficulties. We will work to develop and strengthen skills and strategies to help you manage them effectively. This may include working collaboratively to plan exercises for you to complete between sessions. I specialize in working with adults aged 18 and over who struggle with symptoms of trauma (e.g., post-traumatic stress), those who struggle with relationships and managing emotions (e.g., mood swings that may feel very intense), feelings of low mood, low self-esteem, phobia, and anxiety. Some of the people I work with have received a diagnosis such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), personality disorder, depression, or anxiety, including obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), social anxiety, health anxiety, or panic disorder. Regardless of whether you have been given a formal diagnosis or not, if you identify with any of the above difficulties I can help.
