I am a fully qualified and BABCP accredited cognitive behavioural psychotherapist (CBT). I am also a qualified Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist.
Book a sessionI conduct initial psychological assessment to identify common mental health difficulties that meet the DSM-V and ICD-10 diagnostic criteria. I use CBT interventions to treat mood disorders (depression and low self-esteem) and anxiety disorders including social anxiety, health anxiety, panic disorder with or without agoraphobia, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), specific phobia, stress and body dysmorphia. I use CBT techniques to support people who may experience co-occurring alcohol/drug difficulties with mood and anxiety disorders. I use EMDR to help people who experience posttraumatic stress disorder. I am able to effectively apply psychological interventions and techniques to meet the personal circumstances of my clients. I am fascinated both by our innately resourceful ability as a species to effectively manage or overcome difficulties and in the efficacy of talking therapies. I trained at the Institute of Psychiatry, Kings College London and gained their Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapies. I also hold a: Postgraduate Certificate in Psychological Wellbeing Practice from Canterbury Christ Church University, Salomons Centre, Tunbridge Wells Msc in Inter-professional Practice – Mental Health from City University London BA in Philosophy and Communication from Loyola University Chicago. I abide by the professional and ethical standards laid down by the BABCP and I have full professional indemnity and current DBS clearance.
