About me

Malin is a warm and reflective practitioner that uses a collaborative and flexible approach to best suit the needs of her clients. She draws upon a range of therapeutic frameworks and evidence-based therapy models. She primarily uses EMDR, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and third wave approaches including Compassion Focused Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy in her treatment. Malin is a HCPC Registered Practitioner Psychologist, Chartered Counselling Psychologist and associate fellow of the BPS, accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with the BABCP and accredited EMDR therapist with EMDR UK and Europe. Malin has 17 years’ post-qualification experience in the NHS, private practice and academic settings as a practising psychologist, supervisor and senior lecturer. Her clinical experience has been with adults experiencing a variety of mental health concerns and She has earlier in her career been involved in providing group and crisis interventions within community addiction and forensic settings. She has extensive experience working with depression and anxiety disorders (panic, social anxiety, specific phobia, health anxiety, GAD, OCD and PTSD), low self-esteem, relationship issues and loss. She draws on attachment theory and schema concepts and strategies in her work, particularly when working with relational issues and long standing maladaptive patterns in a person’s life. Malin has a special interest in trauma treatment, Eye movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and the mind-body connection. She works with PTSD, complex and developmental trauma and has undertaken comprehensive training in the treatment of trauma.
