About me

Louise is a compassionate and thoughtful clinical psychologist, who works closely with people to develop a shared understanding of their difficulties. She tailors the therapy to the individual person and believes it is important to help individuals identify their own strengths as well as develop new strategies throughout the therapy, in order to make changes and work towards their goals. Louise is a qualified, HCPC registered Clinical Health Psychologist. She trained as a Health Psychologist, prior to completing a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Liverpool. Through her experience in the primary care setting, Louise has delivered evidence-based therapy for people of all ages. She has worked with people who have experienced a range of mental health difficulties, including anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, stress management and burnout, and relational difficulties. Louise also has in interest in the impact of physical health on psychological functioning and has worked with people who present with various chronic health conditions, including chronic pain and Medically Unexplained Symptoms (MUS). Louise delivers therapy using an integrative approach, which draws upon various psychological models including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT) and Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT).
