Her specialist area of interest is in LGBTQ+ and ethnic minority-related issues. She is aware of the challenges that can come with issues around sexuality, gender, ethnic identity including discrimination, rejection and victimisation, all of which can have a detrimental impact on wellbeing including emotional and mental health. She continually strives towards being an effective, compassionate and culturally-sensitive psychological practitioner. She works with people who are 18 and above. She abides by the professional and ethical standards recommended by both BABCP and HCPC. She has full professional indemnity and current DBS clearance. Kirsty is a fully qualified and accredited counselling psychologist and cognitive behavioural therapist. She has worked within the NHS for over 10 years where she assesses and provides CBT and counselling-based treatment for a variety of client groups experiencing mental health issues and long-term health conditions ranging in complexity and severity. She is highly experienced in providing CBT treatment to work with mental health difficulties such as Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Perfectionism, Depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Panic Disorder, Social Anxiety, Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), health related anxiety, stress management, phobias, low self-esteem and grief and loss.
