She is committed to improving equality and transforming healthcare to provide better, more flexible and tailored support for each individual. She uses an integrated approach in her work, predominantly drawing on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness-based approaches as well as aspects of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy. She uses a biopsychosocial model to understand the factors impacting on a client’s emotional wellbeing and quality of life and helps them build skills to more effectively tackle challenges and lead a more fulfilling life. Helen is a Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist who completed her doctoral clinical training at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King’s College London. She is a registered member of the Health and Care Professions Council. She has extensive experience delivering evidence-based psychological interventions for people living with chronic pain and long-term health conditions as well as common mental health difficulties such as depression, stress and anxiety. She has particular expertise and interest in working with clients with high levels of perfectionism and stress who are struggling to manage conflicting demands in their busy lives. She is skilled in conducting therapy in various formats including face-to-face, remote and hybrid approaches. Throughout her career she has worked across NHS clinical settings as well as leadership and strategic planning, clinically-relevant research, quality improvement and care redesign. Alongside her clinical work, Helen continues to work in strategic leadership in the NHS.
