Book a sessionGayle places particular emphasis on ensuring that therapy is seen as a safe space. She works collaboratively with individuals to identify meaningful goals and draws from a range of psychological models to help people work towards achieving these goals. Gayle is a clinical psychologist with over 10 years of experience working in the NHS, in both mental health and physical health settings. She is fully registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Gayle completed her doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2016 and since then has mostly worked within health psychology. Her current NHS role is within a Pain Management service. Within this role, she has gained extensive experience of working with difficulties such as anxiety, depression, stress, sleep difficulties, anger management and adjustment to living with long term conditions. As well as providing 1:1 support for clients, she regularly provides supervision and training to other members of a multidisciplinary team. Gayle has a special interest in the relationship between physical health and mental health and has found Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to be a particularly helpful model for helping people to adjust to difficult circumstances and to find a way to move forwards. Gayle has undertaken further training in ACT since qualifying as a Clinical Psychologist and finds that incorporating elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) with ACT, can help to enhance its effectiveness.
