About me

I have listened to many people talk of their experiences. I believe in first providing a safe space where people feel comfortable sharing their issues. Even if talking is difficult for you I will try and make the process easier by structuring the sessions so that I can figure out how to help. I like to understand what has brought you to seek help at this time and in doing so, need to understand some of your history as well as your present circumstances. Life can throw many curved balls and I aim to help reduce your distress and help you navigate the way forward. I will spend time getting to know you via an assessment. After this we will make sure that we both understand and agree what the issues are so that together we can move onto the treatment/therapy phase. I am trained in a range of therapeutic approaches including Compassionate Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Behavior Therapy. This enables me to tailor the treatment to best suit the person I am working with. Most recently I have been working with Professionals with issues of Stress/Anxiety/Low Mood-Depression//Burn Out, but I have extensive experience in other areas of mental health including a number of years of specialist experience of working with people in a mixed physical and mental health setting, where things can be very complex. The most important thing to me is that you feel comfortable in therapy as this is key in being able to benefit from it. The relationship between a client and therapist is a strong predictor of how someone will progress and therefore this underpins all of the work that I do.
