About me

Introduction: I became a therapist because I am passionate about helping people to overcome mental health problems. I believe therapy provides a safe and supportive space in which you can talk openly, explore your thoughts and feelings and make meaningful change in your life. My therapy style is warm, compassionate and collaborative. I work closely alongside you to tailor sessions to your specific needs. I will ensure you feel heard and comfortable throughout the process. Personal philosophy and goals: I believe that everyone has the ability to change and grow. Therapy is a powerful way to unlock this potential. My role is to support you on this journey, help you to overcome challenges and support you to create a life in which you feel fulfilled. Experience: I have been practicing as a therapist for 7 years, during which I have worked for the NHS. I specialise in helping people with depression, anxiety, trauma symptoms and long-term health conditions. I have undertaken training in delivering CBT for long-term health conditions. Education: I earned my Psychology degree at Coventry University in 1999. I have also gained a postgraduate diploma in Applied Psychological Therapies. This has given me the skills and knowledge that shape my work today. My interest in Psychology started during my A-Levels, where I became interested in how the mind works and how mental health can impact our daily lives. My interest in helping people with long-term health conditions began when I developed a long-term health condition and realised the impact this was having on my own mental health. Training: I am trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which helps people change unhelpful thinking and behavioural patterns. I also have trained in adapting CBT for long-term health conditions. I am an accredited therapist with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (CBT), which means I am committed to high standards of care.
