About me

Bahar is a skilled, kind, and compassionate Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience across a range of NHS mental health services, where she has supported adults, young people, and families. Her areas of specialism include mood disorders, anxiety disorders (social anxiety, OCD, panic disorder, specific phobia and generalised anxiety disorder), PTSD, acute and chronic health conditions, low self-esteem, and psychosis. She is also highly committed to supporting individuals experiencing work related stress and burnout. In her current role as a Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist within an NHS mental health service, Bahar provides specialist support to individuals with difficulties related to trauma, psychosis, and mood and anxiety disorders. Bahar completed her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Oxford and is accredited in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). She is trained and experienced in a variety of therapeutic approaches including CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Family and Systemic Therapies. Additionally, she is trained and experienced in completing adult autism assessments. Bahar takes a tailored approach to therapy, drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches to meet the unique needs of each individual. Her therapeutic style is collaborative, compassionate, and non-judgmental. She also practices in a culturally informed manner, recognising how individual differences shape people's experiences and challenges. Bahar is dedicated to creating a warm and trusting therapeutic environment where individuals can explore their difficulties, make sense of their experiences, and work toward their goals.
