Dr Green has been a consultant perinatal psychiatrist for nearly 20 years. She is an expert in caring for women with a wide range of mental health problems in the context of trying to conceive, pregnancy and the postnatal period. Women value Dr Green’s collaborative and compassionate approach. She developed the perinatal mental health service at St Thomas’ Hospital (South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust) and led this service from 2002 to 2016 before becoming Perinatal Clinical Lead at West London NHS Trust. She now works clinically in private practice at The Portland Hospital and The Child & Family Practice. Dr Green has had many roles in developing and improving the quality of NHS perinatal mental health services. She has been chair of the South and North West London Perinatal Mental Health Clinical Networks and Service DevelopmentLead for the Pan London Perinatal Mental Health Network. She was joint lead for the London Perinatal Mental Health Care Pathway. She has been an elected member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists Perinatal Faculty and was the lead for the development of a series of perinatal information leaflets for the Royal College of Psychiatrists. Dr Green also has many years’ experience of teaching, training and mentoring for psychiatrists, a range of other perinatal mental health professionals, midwives, health visitors and obstetricians. She is currently a visiting lecturer in perinatal mental health for the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust andjoint clinical lead for the perinatal masterclass programme at the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
